Summary: This study was aimed to determine the effect of Hexamitiasiz on rainbow trout and relationship between Hexamita salmonis and IPNV (Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus). The experimental studies were performed on two different groups: “Infested with H. salmonis” and “uninfested with H. salmonis”. There was two test: one is the “Transmission experiment ”, the other is “Treatment experiment”. Transmission period was consecutive 10 days for each group and treatment period was 7 days. Result of the “Treatment experiment” showed that rainbow trout larvae exposed to H. salmonis longer , remained smaller and their metabolic rate was slower. At the transmission experiment, infested groups had lower weight avarages than control group. Also metabolic rates of earlier infested groups was slower than control and later infested groups. There is no significant difference between both treatment and transmission experiment results in terms of weight and metabolic rate.Groups of both experiment, challenged with IPNV to determine whether H. salmonis makes rinbow trout susceptible to IPNV. And collected data showed that there is no significant difference between larvae exposed H. salmonis longer or shorter periods. Key Words: Hexamita salmonis, Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, İPNV, Oxygen consumption, Metabolism
