Summary:

      Telepresence robots are robots that enable their users ease mutual communication with remote people and virtually visit remote places.

In our study, telepresence robot was developed remotely controlled and concurrent mutually transfer image and voice. The computers can communicate each other using socket communication method. The user can see the remote environment through image information and direct the robot in the direction user wanted through interface program. Ultrasonic distance sensors on the robot measure the distance information between the robot and obstacle. When the robot reaches the specified critical distance, the motor is prevented from moving in that direction. In addition designed telepresence robot has white board application. Mutual users can discuss on an image or a white area due to this application. The telepresence robot is able to determine its location. Position of telepresence robot on map which placed on client interface early is shown user.
