Summary:

      Nowadays, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have started to be seen in our lives. Many of them are used in both military and civilian applications. However, the UAV swarm model has emerged because in some places a single UAV is not sufficient or requires high budget for the supply of large-scale UAVs. Although the drone has many advantages with both its economy and flexibility, it has many disadvantages and challenges. These are examples of rapid mobility of the UAVs, energy constraints and security issues.

In this thesis, a new clustering mechanism has been proposed for balanced energy efficiency and traffic density of UAVs in UAV network. First, general information about UAVs is given. Then the importance of UAV network is explained. Besides, some important mechanisms are introduced and their advantages and disadvantages are explained in detail. Then some important routing protocols have been proposed. The advantages and disadvantages of these protocols are described in detail. Finally, a new clustering mechanism was introduced and then the performance test results were discussed. When the test results are examined, it is observed that the UAV network gives better results than some important mechanisms.
