| Summary: The genus of Artemisia L. s.l (Asteraceae) distributed in Iran was investigated by morphological and molecular aspects. Determined morphological characters were analyzed using different statistical programs. From the 17 selected morphological characters, it was determined that the adaxial and abaxial leaf color, shape of capitulum attachment and cauline leaf type were important characters for the discrimination of the examined taxa from each other. Morphological analysis is also revealed that members belong to sect. Seriphidium was distinctly separated from those belong to sect. Artemisia and Dracunculus. Phylogenetic trees obtained from Maximum Parsimony (MP) analysis conducted on both separately ITS, trnH-psbA and combined sequences (ITS +trnH-psbA) were conqruent with the morphological results.
