Summary: In this study, elemental analysis in lichen and mosses collected from Sarp- Samsun highway was performed samples by using EDXRF and AAS techniques. For analysis with EDXRF, the 40 mg tablets which were prepared from lichen and moss samples by sieving with 400 mesh, were irradiated by 241Am and 55Fe radioactive sources emitting 59,5 and 5,95 keV photons, respectively. Photons passed through the samples were counted by Ultra LEGe detector with multi channel analyser. After the analysis with EDXRF it was found that the samples contain P, K, Ca, Ti, Fe, Cu, Sr, Y, Sn and Ba. Because of the detection limit of EDXRF, Na, Mg, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb were identified by using AAS. Đn addition, 6 different moss samples were given 3 different Pb concentrated solutions in order to observe the Pb absorption capacity of these samples. Đt was observed that different moss species has different Pb absorption capacity.
