Summary:

In this study, 19 Onosma L. (Boraginaceae) taxa were examined in terms of morphological and palynological features.

Plant materials, used in this study, were collected in the years between 2003-2006 from Black Sea Region, the vegetation periods Onosma L. taxa.

Features of stem, leaves shapes, feathers, flowers and fruit shapes are very important among the morphologically examined traits for precise identification of the taxa.

From point of aperture shape and number of view, pollen grains are tricolporatae. Also according to pollen type are prolatae, prolatae sphaeroidal or subprolatae. Colpi are long, their limits are distinct and terminals of colpi are acute. Exine structure is eutectate and ornamentation is granulate-perforate.

Pollen and taxon definitions, of examined Onosma L. taxa have been done. Besides, pollen and taxonomical identification keys were given. Boxplot grapghics of polar axis, equatorial axis and Amb measures have been drawn.

At the results of morphological and palynological studies of 19 taxa of Onosma, some additional characters which are useful in the identification of the taxa with systematical problems, became definite and closed taxa were precisely differentiated. O. liparioides was determined as new records for the area.
