Summary:

      In this study, we studied the properties of aluminum resistance gene from a thermophilic bacteria, A. gonensis G2 that is resistant up to 100 mM Al+3. First of all, the gene was cloned and then, the nucleotide and amino acid sequences oh this gene were determined. We obtained more information about the gene after Genbank similarities of the gene were done. According to these data, we found that the gene is similar to some ATPases. This gene also was cloned into the expression vector in order to obtain more and pure gene product. This gene product was used to determine the ATPase activity and the biochemical features of the activity.

      

      The optimum crystallization conditions were determined as 1 M HEPES (pH 7,5) including 10% isopropanol, 22% PEG-4000. We obtained the crystal structure of the enzyme likes needle.
