      In this study, bacteria isolation were carried out from Mus-Cukurbag's gas saturated groundwater, and then, species of isolates were tried to be determined. Meanwhile, the number of bacteria in the samples from water was determined.

      The number of bacteria in the water samples was defined by the membran filtration method. In addition, the samples obtained by filtration and the enrichment cultures from the gas saturated groundwater were grown on nutrient agar medium and the colonies were examined under sterio microscope. Five different isolates were subjected to the further tests. Morfological, physiological, biochemical, some genetical and chemotaxonomical features of the isolates were examined.

      As conclusion, the number of bacteria in the gas saturated groundwater was found as 124 bacteria/ml. According to the properties of isolates, they are placed into genus Bacillus, Bordetella and Providencia.
