Summary: In this study, isolation of B. thuringiensis from various soil samples and identification of these bacteria have been carried on. Also, insecticidal efects of these isolates were identified on insects belong to Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera and Coleoptera. Eighty five isolates were obtained from soil samples taken from three different places. Among these bacteria, 40 isolates were detected as B. thuringiensis according to morphological and biochemical test results. At the end of molecular tests that were done with ISR (Intergenic 16S-23S Spacer Region) assay, it was determined that 28 isolates hassame properties as the control strains. Insectisidal effects of 40 isolates, that were identified at the end of morphological and biochemical tests on Agelastica alni (Coleoptera), Neodiprion sertifer (Hymenoptera) and Hyphantria cunea (Lepidoptera) were detected. These results showed that isolated bacteria were highly effective especially on H. cunea (%50-100). However, same isolates showed 5-55% insecticidal effect on Agelastica alni and 10-80% on Neodiprion sertifer. Keywords: Bacillus thuringiensis, insecticidal crystal protein, biological control.
