Enrichment cultures of both water and mud samples from four hot springs were examined under binocular microscop. Based on colony morphology, eleven of which from Hisarköy Hot Spring, twelve of which from Dikili-Bergama Kaynarca Hot Spring, sixteen of which from Camköy Camur Hot Spring and eleven of which from Hidirlar Hot Spring were, totally fifty different isolates, selected. Based on results of 16S rRNA gene analyzes, nine isolates were placed into the Anoxybacillus genus and their phenotyic analyzes and some genomic features of these isolates were examined. Our Anoxybacillus isolates showed more than % 97 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with the species in the Anoxybacillus genus and % G+C contents of these nine isolates varied among % 42-50. According to the results of DNA-DNA hybridization studies, one of the isolates from Camköy Camur Hot Spring was a new species designated as Anoxybacillus camkoyensis and the other two isolates from that hot spring were its strains. One isolate from Dikili-Bergama Kaynarca Hot Spring was identified as a new strain of Anoxybacillus voinovkiensis. Meanwhile the other two isolates from Dikili-Bergama Kaynarca Hot Spring and one isolates from Hidirlar Hot Spring had potantial of being new species belonging to Anoxybacillus genus and the remaining two isolates were their strains.
