Summary:

      In this study, 10 Hieracium L. (Asteraceae) species were examined in terms of palynogical features. Poliferous plant were taken from Herbarium of Biology at Karadeniz

Techinal Universty (KTUB). From point of aperture shape and number, the pollen grains are tricolporatae. While pollen type of H. ovalifrons (Woronow & Zahn) Juxip, H tamderense Hub.-Mor, H. microtum Boiss, H.conicum Avret-Touvet, H. umbellatum L. and H. Pseudosvaneticum Peter are oblate sphaeroidal, ti is prolatae sphaeroidal in H. macrolepis Boiss, H. lanceolatum Vill., H. vagum Jordan and H. rigens Jordan. The range of Clg/Clt (3,58-4,64) and P/E range (0,92-1,11) were important in all examined taxa. Morever the width of lumina (8,88-11,56μm) and exine thickness (6,88-9,12μm) are significant trait. Colpi with roundend are very long in all examined taxa, porus were at the center of colpi. Exine structure is tectate and ornamentation is echinate. Pollen and taxon definitions, of examined Hieracium L. taxa have been done. Besides, pollen identification key was given. The light microscope and the Scaning Electron microscope (SEM) photographs of the pollen grains were added to the study. All palynological traitswere analysed by numerical methods in order to determined their taxonomic value ve prepared idendification keys based on palynological traits. Pollen images of all examined taxa were taken under both LM ve SEM for the first time ve give in the present study.
