Summary:
Taking and preserving the samples of water, contaminating parameters and determining methods were mentioned in the second section. Findings of 16 contaminatng parameters (pH, temperature, conductivity, turbidness, detergent, phenol, dissolved oxygen, sulphate, nitrate, phospate, calcium, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, zinc, lead) taken from 16 sampling station were given in the third section. Variations of the parameters both along the river and month by month were dealt with in the fourth sections. In the frame of various legistation, the river water was classified in terms of its quality and in was determined whether the quality of it was suitable for different purposes in the fifth section. The present situation of the river was mentioned and some implications were offered taking into account the research findings in the sixth section.
