| Summary: and perception negatively, causes psychological and physiological disorders, decreases work performance, alters the characteristics of the environment by destroying its calm and quiet. The noise from aircraft which are used in air transport, the fastest and most comfortablemeans of transport, threatens the health of airport workers and residents of the houses and workplaces around the airport. The purpose of this study is to propose precautions about noisepollution by determining the level of noise of Trabzon Airport and to what extent people living in the near surrounding are affected by it.The study consists of six chapters. In the first chapter, the parameters and definitions regarding sound, noise and airport noise are given. The second chapter contains informationabout noise measurement and the survey study. In the third chapter, the findings of these studies are presented. The fourth chapter contains the discussion of survey and measurementresults and the results obtained from the discussion. The fifth chapter contains the suggestions based on the obtained results. The sixth chapter contains the references.As a result of this study, it has been found that the noise level caused by airport traffic in Trabzon are at a level affecting human health and above the designated maximum valueproposed by Noise Control Regulation and accordingly the disturbance level of the residents is also high. For this reason, it has been determined that especially in the near surrounding ofthe airports new residential areas should not be permitted, in the existing residential areas necessary precautions to decrease effects of noise should be taken, the aircraft taking off andlanding at the airport should meet the requirements of regulations and lastly that possible precaution should be taken at the airport.
