Summary:

      The most important one of the renewable energy resources is the solar energy. Especially, nowadays, there is a demand to employe it since it has no pollution of the environment and the other energy resources are running out.

      In order to use the solar energy the sun collectors are employed. The main functions of the sun collectors are to transfer the solar energy into the heat energy by absorbing. To perform this function, the collector must follow the orbit of the sun. On the other hand, to get the maximum benefit from the sun rays, they must come on to the surface of the collector uprightly. But, the slope of the sun rays continuously varies from day to day and from season to season in the year. That means, the slope of the collector must be also changed continuosly.

      In this thesis, a control system has been designed and realised so that the collector follows the sun and the rays come onto the surface of the collector uprightly. In this system, LDR�s (Light Depent Resistors) have been used to sense the sun rays and Stepping Motors have been employed to rotate the collector and to change the slope of the collector.
