Summary:

      

Aim of this project is reading KWh meters by remote control. Master and Slave Modems are used to establish communication between distribution transformers and subscribers. The reason of using this modems is to transmit and receive analog and digital information from KWh meter over power line.

      We used ST7537HS1 FSK chip for master and slave modems. PIC16F628 is used to control ST7537 communication protocol and make system configurations. There are many other devices used to coupling these circuits to power line.

The communication technique used in modems are FSK(Frequency Shift Keying) modulation. To understand data coming from modems and pc, we used a pc software programmed in Delphi. The achievement of this system is provided by an error coding called Hamming.
