Summary: Today, linear motion in numerous systems is realized by means of a mechanism set up by a conventional (rotary) electric motor providing circular motion and a belt system orgear system activated by the motor. All these subsystems are necessary to convert rotary motion to linear motion. Because of these additions, some problems occur such as frictionslosses, increment in moment of inertia and mass of total system. But fewer moving parts, reducing losses and longer system life with less maintenance are features expected in suchsystems. To meet these requirements, a tubular constructed linear induction motor design has beenproposed to use instead of rotary motor with other additional systems and then realized. In the first chapter, some information is given about structures, types and applicationsof linear motors and actuators, performance criterions and desing tips. The circutry of the motor control and six-step inverter are mentioned as wellIn second chapter, the realization of the Tubular Structured Linear Asynchronous Motor design as a mechanic oscillator and the control circuitry are explained. In the third chapter, some experimental results are obtained to make suggestions about how to increase efficiecy of the motor and control system.
