Summary:

The approach on Electromagnetic Compatibility deals not only with any kind of

machine working with electricity not affected by its own electromagnetic field but at the

same time its being not affected by the other devices’ electromagnetic field around. In this

field the standards are determined for the devices and the sort of the device that it belongs

to. The process doesn’t finish with designing producing and making the device ready for

the sale. Anymore in order to make its selling not only in the country that the device is

designed but also in the international area, the device needs to provide the standards that

the related directives a script.

In the first chapter of the thesis the parameters that may cause of the electromagnetic

interference is handeled and the designing techniques are handled on how to reduce them.

The main part forming the thesis is intended for the measurements that the standards

estimate. For this reason, the measurements that is needed for the standards of an

information technology device is mentioned in the last chapter. All the measurements are

made in accredited EMC Test Laboratory.
