Light emitting diodes (Light Emitting Diodes, LED) provide an environment-friendly lighting opportunity with high energy efficiency and long life compared to traditional lighting devices. Therefore, their use is becoming more and more common today. Also, the ability to switch LEDs at high speeds makes them good transmitters for short-range wireless optical communication. For this reason, data transmission can also be performed by changing the power or color of the lighting at speeds that the human eye cannotnotice, especially by using LED. This technology is called Visible Light Communication (VLC). VLC attracts attention as an alternative or complementary technology to RF due tothe VLC is more reliable, inexpensive and efficient compared to radio frequency (Radio Frequency, RF) communication and the RF band is getting more and more crowded. In this study, an LED driver is designed that can perform data transmission while providing lighting conditions for indoor VLC systems. The designed LED driver supportsmulti-level modulation when using Metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor, MOSFET) as switch, making the transmittersystem easy to design and low cost. |
