Summary:

      This thesis includes SWAXS (Small and Wide Angle X-Ray Scattering) studies on two different sample groups which are spider web and magnetic and metallic nano particles. The SWAXS measurements were carried out with laboratory-type SWAXS experimental system.

Cocon, dragline and hiding silk structures of spider webs which had collected from Black Sea region were investigated. Samples which were collected from different elevations were compared with each other. Also spider hiding silk samples both were collected from nature and obtained in laboratory conditions were compared with each other. In addition, the solution form of dragline samples and SEM (Scanning Elektron Microscope) images of some of the cocon samples were analyzed.

      On the second group samples, cylindrical and spherical gold nano particles and gold coated magnetite ( ) nano- magnetic particles were investigated.

For both groups, structural features such as number, shape and size of nano particles, electron density variations in the samples were determined and same kind of samples were compared with each other.
