Title of the Thesis: TOTAL ALPHA, TOTAL BETA ACTIVITIES OF DRINKING WATER IN RIZE PROVINCE AND DOSE VALUES
Level: M.Sc.

Summary:

The aim of the study is to detect gross alpha and beta activity concentrations of drinking waters in city center, counties and some villages of Rize. The Berthold LB770 multi-channel and low energetically detector was used to detect gross alpha and beta concentrations in the water, which are collected from sixty-one different locations (above mentioned). Gross alpha and beta analyses were performed according to “EPA 900.0” standard method. The average gross alpha and beta activities for drinking and tap waters were measured 22 mBq/L and 85 mBq/L, respectively. The annual effective-dose was calculated for babies, children and adults in all counties of Rize by using measured activity values.
