Summary: Shipyards are one of the big businesses that need to be seriously focused on financial issues. Costs play an important role in financial issues. The most important factor constituting these costs is the initial investment costs. Issues related to the location selection and layout of a shipyard are the major part of the initial investment cost. Since the initial investment cost of the shipyard is quite high, even the smallest mistakes made in facility location selection and facility layout cause the costs to be higher after the shipyard is built. Furthermore, because the costs of building a ship are very high, mistakes that in shipyard location selection and layout can lead to major problems such as a further increase in this cost and a longer lead time. The aim of this thesis is to present an integrated study that help both the facility location selection and facility layout to the investor who wants to establish a shipyard to minimize or if possible eliminate the problems mentioned above. Fuzzy AHP and fuzzy TOPSIS method were applied together to select shipyard location. Genetic algorithms, one of the population-based optimization techniques, were used for optimal shipyard layout.
