Summary:

       In this study, the behaviors of monolithic and prefabricated members produced using structural light concrete were investigated experimentally and theoretically. For this purpose, the possibility to produce structural lightweight concrete using expanded perlite aggregate was investigated. So, a number of different concrete mixtures were prepared and produced. Among the produced concretes, the most appropriate mixture was selected both in terms of possibility to produce and strength. Using the selected mix, steel -concrete adherence was investigated which is the reason of the presence of reinforced concrete. Steel-concrete adherence tests on lightweight concrete samples showed that for the traditional concrete as given in the regulations, the clamping length was found sufficient to be on the safe side. In this study, in the C30 concrete strength class reinforced concrete beam and column test samples were produced by using lightweight concrete. Bending test and uniaxial compression experimental tests were performed on the samples to determine the reinforced concrete structure elements behaviors produced with lightweight concrete. In this review, the effect of confinement reinforcement was investigated by arranging two different transverse reinforcement in the columns. This study claimed that structural lightweight concrete can be used and its possibility to produce, its reinforcement–concrete adherence and the behaviors of produced lightweight concrete column-beam members under the effects of bending and axial load.
