Summary:

Every year a lot of mosques and minarets are erected in our country. Most of these

structures are financed by private and legal entities as a charity. So heaps of times any

counting without do and without control on level desired these structures are erected with

skill master only. So they are able to take the knock easily under effects like strong wind

and earthquake. Thus according to press, recently, it is known that minarets have fallen

down with wind affect and falling down minarets have caused to loss of life and properties.

Therefore the main goal of this study is to calculate the charge of wind and to search

behavior of minarets under this affects and to calculate according to national and foreign

country regulations and this score submit relatively.

The study consists of three main sections and two addition sections. The first section

includes general information. It is defined the goal of the study in the first section and it is

emphasized that the minarets developing through time, building goals, minarets

components, minarets loads, calculating methods and this building concerning the method

of calculate the law announced by the Department of Religious Affairs.

In the second section, it is given that minarets and selected minaret as an example

structural features, according to ACI 307 and TS 498 calculation of wind affects,

calculation of earthquake affects and according to bearing capacity considering various

loads combinations body of minaret of section calculations. In the finish of second section,

it is examine relatively finding values from load combinations for wind and earthquake

loads.

In the third section, the results and recommendations of the study are given. After

this last section, the references and two extra sections are given.
