Summary:

In recent years, it is observed that the number of traffic accidents is increasing in relation to the increased number of vehicles. For this reason, the horizontal marking is being carried out to provide traffic safety .

Since the fact that the horizontal marking is the indispensable part of traffic safety, it is open to the new discoveries and inventions to increase efficiency. Therefore, a large number of tests has been done to improve the visibility function of horizontal markings. As a result of these tests, it was understood that “ glass beads on road paint” have to be used to improve visibility at night. Today, the glass beads is used to improve night visibilty on road lanes all over the world.

In this study, by using reflectometer instrument to measure the reflection performance derives from glassbeads, thrown on a paint, the most ideal outputs have been supplied to determine the effects of glass beads on visibility of day and night.
