Summary:

Today buildings are exposed to the effects such as impact and explosion loads in addition to vertical(dead load and live load) and horizontal (earthquake and wind) loads. Usually explosion and impact loads that expose the buildings such as nuclear power plants, airports, defense industry and military installations, can occur occasionally to the normal buildings because of the reasons like natural gas system explosions or terrorism attacks.

Therefore, it has gained importance that to research the effects of the impact loads which has become by the explosion or impact of an object in reinforced concrete buildings. Especially at last years experimental and theoretical studies has made with aim of to reveal the actions of the reinforced concrete elements which has produced with the concrete that has not adequate strength, when they are affected. İt is not economical that including the buildings exposed to the influence impact ,full scale to the experimental studies. Because of this, in such cases as loading situations, it is inevitable to examine the buildings analitically.

In this study it is examined quantitatively that the effect to the plates of the impact that has consisted by hit of an object. In this examination three different sized and two different boundry conditioned reinforced concrete plates were exposed to impact load.

In different boundry conditioned reinforced concrete plates, two different models of material for concrete such one is the Drucker-Prager (DP), and another is the Concrete Damage Plasticity Model (CDP) were taken into consideration. For reinforced concrete steel the Classical Metal Plasticity Model (CMP) were used also.

By the examination of findings of study results, it was observed that; CDP model gave the better results than DP model, the largest impact load was occured when the plates were fixed support, with the increase in plate size boundary condition effect in determining the impact load is decreased.
