Summary:

      The sector of construction has been formed as a result of the need for protection and sheltering of the human race. The results of these needs have been an important part of human life throughout history. The importance that it possesses has entailed it to be a progressively growing economic market and the premise sector of the economy. Even the construction sector which has so much importance has significant problems. The foremost of those problems are the ones related with health and security (ISG). According to the data of the Social Insurance Administration (SGK), the sector of construction is one of the three sectors that experience work place related accidents mostly; nevertheless, it is in the first place when considered deadly work accidents in recent years. This situation clearly shows what an important and sensitive subject is the work safety in the sector of construction.

In this work of dissertation, a study on how the regulations and communiques enacted accordingly to the 6331 numbered Law of Occupational Safety and Health, are comprehended by the workers and employers working in the construction sector and how it is applied in workplace practice. In scope of this study, a survey study applied to firms functioning as sectors of construction in the state of Trabzon and to 361 people consisting of 56 employers and 305 employees working in municipalities and establishments of construction inspection. The perceptibility of the survey questions was evaluated according to the attained count of data and an evaluation was done for every question asked. The data attained as a result of the evaluation is shown as a chart and a bar chart. References to the related article were made in the case that the directed questions in the survey were concerning the aspect of the 6331 numbered Law of Occupational Safety and Health. At the end of the study, a comment was subjected to the general evaluation that was done with data that emerged as a result of the survey.
