Summary:

      In this thesis, it has been shown that the disputes and/or problems experienced in the construction works projects that are tendered by the public institutions can be determined before the tender by using the Building Information Modeling. For this purpose, three projects which were tendered or supervised by Trabzon Provincial Directorate of the Environment and Urban Ministry were modeled by Building Information Modeling and it was researched whether the disputes and/or problems encountered during implementation phase could be resolved at design stage. In both of these projects, the constructed construction violates the neighboring land boundary and in the other project the heating installation and the HVAC system of the mechanical project have clash problems with the bearing elements of construction.

For the study, the engineers who supervised the projects at Trabzon Provincial Directorate of the Environment and Urban Ministry were interviewed and learned what kind of problems encountered in the implementation phase of the projects. With the obtained data, while the projects were modeled in 3D within the scope of Building Information Modeling technology, more detailed modeling was done where the problems occurred.

      Clash detective analysis was done considering required workspace between the construction elements and the land boundary in the projects where the land problem occurred. In the project, in which there is a problem related to the placement of the mechanical installation, a clash detective analysis has been made between the bearing elements of the construction and the mechanical installation.

As a result of the study, it is concluded that if the Building Information Modeling is used in the design stage of the public construction, it will be possible to find out and correct almost all the problems and disputes.
