Summary:

Insufficiency of public transportation services in many residential areas is among the most important problems due to the increase of urbanization. Because of the the significant role rail system plays in the solution of this problem, rail systems place and importance in urban transportation are main subjectsof this study. The importance of rail systems has been explained with concrete examples in a specific area.

As an example, Kızılay-Çayyolu Subway (M2 line), which is operating under Ankara public transportation system, has chosen. Ankara has been deemed appropriate for our study because of the fact that the above-mentioned subway line has recently come into operation and the fact that Ankara is a overpopulated zone and it is a zone where a transportaton problem is experenced too much.
