Summary: In this study there has been tried a new approach in order to do goodness of fit tests of an arbitrary two-dimensional area with the help of classical and empirical distributionfunctions based on bivariate distributions. Arbitrary two-dimensional area is defined by a polygonal approach.Polygonal definition area is firstly divided into triangles to calculate the distribution function of the random variables. The Delaunay algorithm is preferred for triangulationoperation. Statistical calculations are carried out by analyzing each of the triangles separately. For each triangular different approaches have been tried to the calculate distribution function, observed frequencies, the expected frequency and the values of empirical distribution function With the help of parameters obtained by using these approaches, Chi-square andKolmogorov-Smirnov tests with two variables have been carried out successfully. Key Words: Chi-square test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Bivariate distributions, Goodness offit test, Polygonal approximation. |
