Summary:

Population synthesis is a process of producing a synthetic population that is used to simulate households and individual data of interest by expanding discrete sampling data to the total population. The most commonly used method in the literature about population synthesis The Iterative Proportional Fitting / IPF technique. This method is used to generate individual population records for the entire population. Micro data are individual records that contain information about each individual and the household. Microsimulation is a mechanism used to reproduce or predict the state of the system by mimicking the behavior of individual actors in the system. Spatial microsimulation is the creation, analysis and modeling of individual level data assigned to geographical areas. Population synthesis is an important phase of spatial microsimulation. Spatial microdata is useful output from spatial microsimulation. Population production for spatial microsimulation is not yet a field in our country. This issue has not yet attracted attention in our country since it is not possible in our country to find open source micro data belonging to any field at present. The main purpose of this thesis focuses on spatial microsimulation study. This study was done with the help of R program based on IPF method. In this study, how the spatial microsimulation is generated is shown by the spatial microdata obtained from a two-position region. It has been shown how the final spatial microsimulation data is obtained by passing these spatial microsimulation results through "integerisation" and "expansion" processes.
