Summary:

Since the GPS ( Global Positioning System ) provides sufficient accuracy, it is used instead of local geodetical methods. As for local measurement methods, there are several source of errors affecting the GPS measurement method as well.

In this study, the antenna phase center error affecting the GPS measurements have been reviewed. It has been investigated if the parameters defining the GPS antenna phase center are changing in time. For this purpose, measurements have been carried out by using field measurements methods by observing base length between two pillars and elipsoid height between points specified as test field at the K.T.Ü. coast facilities.

Comparing the base lenghts obtained from the tests, affects of antenna phase center parameters to the base length are investigated. Elipsoid height differences between the points and antenna phase center parameters have been reviewed.

Finally, it is concluded that this applied method can be used to test corrections of the antenna phase center parameters
