Summary:

The concentration point of this thesis is in general the scientific part and more specifically the access of the data and operations which scientific evaluations need. Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) become indispensable in areas like coastal management where a number of stakeholders and the need of timely, right, economical decisions are involved. SDIs may be realized at local, regional, national and global scales. The Marine SDI, which has been under consideration in this study, is a national SDI.
