Summary:

The ever-increasing population from the past has brought about an increase in the amount of solid waste. This situation necessitated the management of solid wastes in a system. The process of managing solid wastes from production to disposal is called integrated solid waste management system. Today, the collection, transportation and disposal stages of solid waste management systems are performed manually. This situation poses an important environmental problem and also increases the cost of the solid waste management system. For this reason, solid waste management systems need to be supported by optimum solutions to reduce environmental and financial burdens. This is only possible with a decision support platform that includes all of the processes up to the disposal of the solid waste. This study is intended to constitute a basis for the formation of the decision support platform. The resulting product is composed of three components. First of these components is the component of determining the most suitable location for disposal facilities which are suitable for the disposal of solid wastes. The second component is the component of determining the location of the bins needed to collect solid waste depending on population density. The third component is the component of determining the collection route. The products produced by these components undoubtedly will contribute to the economy and the clean and comfortable life by supporting the waste management system with the most appropriate solutions in financial and environmental terms and will contribute to the concept of smart city which is one of the most important concepts of today.
