SUMMARY Discrimination and Investigation of Interfered Body waves by Spectral Analysis Techniques Earthquakes are natural events which we can obtain important information about depth structure of the earth. The recorded earthquake at the stations contains a lot of Earthquake phases (e.g. P, pP and PcP) which are mostly interfered to each other. These earthquake records imply some valuable information about both the earthquake and underground where the earthquake phases passes. The information can be retrieved from the seismograms depends on the characterizations of the earthquake phases such as delay times of interfered phases and its waveform. Some special spectral techniques as Cepstrum have been developed and investigated for the interfered body waves in the seismograms in order to obtain the relationship between the interfered phases for the years. The results obtained from this study were compared to IASP’91 model and tested its reliabilities. Cepstral techniques are very efficient in determining arrival times and amplitudes of the wavelet and its echoes. Cepstral F-statistic method also improves the result in case of local network data that an event recorded at various stations in the network.
