       One of the subjects that is in the scope of the geophysics, is the engineering studies.

      The vertical electrical sounding (VES) and seismic refraction applications that each one has made one hundred and fifty times in the various regions in the scope "core drilling, geological, geophysical and geotechnical studies that are on the basis of revised settlement plan in the regions, which cover the borders and neighbor areas of the Trabzon municipality" and their results were examined in detail in this thesis. At the same time, as the geology of the studying area was examined, the units that have different lithologies, which were observed in the field, the spreading and characteristics of these units were determined. In addition, the techtonism of the studying area, the disaster situation (flood, landslide, rock falling, etc.) and assessment in the aspect of settlement (proper areas, areas with core driling conditions, sheltered aeas and improper areas) were made and the information that is obtained and recommendations were presented.
