Summary:

Recently, according to developments occur in technology, many innovations occurred in seismic methods which are very important for petroleum and oil exploration. Through these innovations, exploration activities are done more quickly and the targetted structures are detected more easily. Thus, setting well area which is the final result of seismic study can be done in a very short time and the result of the study can be achieved more quickly than before.

A seismic exploration study is consist of project, data collection, data-process, intepretation and well establishing steps. As a result, new technological developments affect these phases of exploration facilities positively in the view of time, cost and labour force.

In this study, 2D and 3D data collection steps in the field with seismic reflection method and the importance of test shots made prior to that which are so important for oil and gas exploration is explored and estimated in the view of data quality. In Trakya zone, a sampling which is consist of test shots made for seismic study is done and the important points are determined in the matter of optimum parameter choice. Consequently, through test shots will be done prior to data collection in the field, forming collection conditions of 2- and 3-D data and in the point of providing easies in planning for time, cost and labour force, parameters such resource-receiver expansions, checking deepness, folding number, resource frequencies etc. are needed to determine in high accuracy is established.
