Summary:

In this study, the earthquakes for the time period 1900-1992 come the from Global Hypocenter Data Base prepared by USGS and for the time period 19992-2003 the PDE data and IRIS data are used. Taking into consideration tectonic environments Turkey has been divided into eight different regions to investigate the variations of the seismic risk and hazard according to different regions and tectonics and to examine relationships between these parameters. Concerning the relationships developed between magnitude types for the different regions, a uniform catalog of MS has been constructed.

For each regions, a, b and a/b modal values are calculated using Gutenberg-Richter relationship and maximum values of magnitude (MMax), intensity (IMax), acceleration (accMax), velocity (VMax) and displacement (DMax) are calculated using Gumbel's asymptotic distribution. The results are discussed for the tectonic structures of the regions.
