Summary: First, chemical analyses were done on Tiriticum durum L. that was chosen as a different species. Second, 19 cooking indicated above were conducted. Data obtained were then analyzed statistically and best cooking condition were determined as shown below: Active alkali charge : %16 Time at max. temperature : 20 minuteMax. Temperature: 160 ?C Liquor to raw material ratio : 4/1 (w/w) At the optimum pulping condition sulfate wheat straw pulp gave %41.4 screened yield, 24 kappa number, 921 cm3/g viscosity, 9.64 km breaking length, 4.00 kPa.m2/g bursting index, 4.28 mN. m2/g tearing index and 29.96 % BaSO4 brightness.Key Words: Wheat Straw (Triticium durum), sulfate pulping strength properties pulping condition |
