Summary:
Finding indicated that seperation efficiency of copper minerals were low with a significant amount of sphalerite and pyrite having reported to the copper concentrate This could be attributed mainly to the incomplete liberation of the mineral phases present as the mineralogical examination of the copper concentrate produced revealed. High grade copper concentrates were produced only at the expense of low recoveries (ag. 41,4% Cu at 25,5% recovery). The findings of this study suggest that It would be more suitable to produce a bulk Cu-Zn concentrate rather than seperate Cu and Zn concentrates. Considering low metal recoveries to seperate concentrates obtained in this study. Further studies should focus on the use of hydrometalurgical method to recover the contained base metal. |
