| Summary: The mechanical and physical properties of the granites were defined according to the national standards called TSE 699 when the experimental studies were carried out. The samples obtained from Harşit granites were used to define the physical properties such as dried and saturated unit volume weight, porosity and water absorption under the atmospheric pressure. Also, the mechanical properties of the granites such as uniaxial compressive strength, abrasion strength, ultrasonic velocity, resistance against freezing, compressive strength after freezing, bending strength, impact resistance have been defined as well. According to the results of the experimental studies, the granites’ samples have been clasified and investigated if they have suitable conditions required for marble. In addition, to get the mineralogical and petrographic properties, the samples were analyzed using a polarized microscope. The measurement of the level of the natural radyoactivity of Harşit granites was carried out by using of HPGe detector.
