Summary:

A computational study based on the control volume dizcretization technique hs been performed for solving the fully developed turbulent flow and heat transfer problem for parallel plate channels. A program designed to solve velocity and temperature fields of laminar flow problem in channels written in computer language FORTRAN has been modified to use the k-ε model of turbulence and carry out the solution of the problem under the periodically fully developed flow and heat transfer condition.

The periodically fully developed flow condition is obtained by defining periodic and symmetric obstacles across the flow direction in both wall-attached and displaced positions. The work has been performed under the periodical boundary conditions across the flow direcrtion and the constant heat flax at he wall. In the analysis of the problem solved under the mentioned conditions, results are obtained for the Standard Wall Function Method and for four different Low Reynolds Number Models to take care of the near wall low Reynolds number flow condition. The computational resuls are comparatively presented with the experimental data that comes from literature.
