Summary:

Development in computer and software technology fields has proved its effect on industrial field. Particularly, bottleneck in industrial can be transformed to computer by simulation programs to increase amount of production and productivity. Therefoe, there are a lot of simulation programs. Currently, the simulation method is seemed to be suitable solution for complicated and large production line problems because analytical method are more expensive or difficult than simulation technique for large systems. The most important aim of simulation technique is to help users to test investment strategies for investment decisions. Therefore, the model of system is constructed in computers and all strategies are tested to forecast how new investment strategies effect the job flor

In this study, job flor of a car spare manufacturing factory which Works as job shop is considered for simulation model. There are 120 workbenches, 50 type jobs, 2 forklifts, 13 interval stock areas, an assembly line, a quality control laboratory, a maintenance shop, a heat treatment job, a product and raw material warehouse and a packing department. The purpose of this model is to determine numbers of needed machine and to see the bottlenecks which may be constituted after new investment.

AWESIM simulation language, improved model of SLAM II is used to construct simulation model of job flor. Model was constructed by the data collected from job floor. The data such as job name, job no, batch size, number of batches, rote and operation knowledge, machine no, machine name, process time, preparation time, transport time, etc. Collected from job floor by observing job floor and taking from entry. The presented case of job floor is investigated by simulation. The bottlenecks are determinedand three strategies are tested to cope with bottleneck by model.
