Summary:

In this study the aim was to determine the parameter’s effects in friction stir welding of AA5754-H22 and AA6061-T6 aluminium alloys by using different parametres. In this process two different tool spindle speed, three different tool advance speed and three different tool press force parametres were determined and then eighteen different experiment were carried out. The joined samples were investigated by the methods of tensile test, bending test, micro hardness, micro and macro structure observation.The welding processes performed from in the shape of mechanical joints emerging in the diffusion free structure. After all investigations no failed welding structure has been observed.

As a result, the most important parameter which affects the welding more is the tool press force. The tool advence speed and stirring intensity come after respectively. In order to have acceptable joints, the tool press force to be applied should be at least 6 kN.
