Summary:

In this study the aim was to determine the parameters affects in friction stir welding of nickel aluminium bronze by using different parameters. Before starting FSW application, 3 different tool spindle speeds, 3 different tool advance speeds and 3 different tool press forces was determined. In addition, 21 different experiment were carried out. The joined samples were investigated by the methods of tensile test, impact test, micro hardness, micro and macro structural observation. A grain refinement within the stir zone was observed in all the joint produced as well as a more homogeneous distribution of the particles, due to the excessive plastic deformation and simultaneous recrystallization taking place during FSW. Large globular κII particles observed in alpha matrix in the base material were broken up into smaller particles and distributed within both DXZ and TMAZ regions of the joints. Strength values of welding zone according to the base material has been found to reach a higher value. As a result, the most important parameter which affects the welding more is tool press force. The tool advance speed and stirring intensity come after respectively.
