Summary:

      The study consists of the definitions and the contents of good, beauty and aesthetics in architectural context, besides, 20th century basic aesthetic theories, 20th century basic architectural theories, the relations between 20th century aesthetic and architectural theories. In this sense, structuralism, hermeneutics, phenomenology, behavioural aesthetic theory, semiology, ontology, linguistics, receptional aesthetic theory, and, modernism, postmodernism, deconstructivism are investigated.

      In exposing the relations between aesthetics and architecture, and, in criticising 20th century architecture with 20th century aesthetic theories, the method of conceptual analysis, conceptualisation is used. The stages of conceptualisation based on aesthetic theories, conceptualisation based on architectural theories, examining and discussing by the help of conceptions are improved. In the lights of the conceptions, the building examples after 1980 are examined.

      In this context, the study is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, under the heading of general information, introduction to the subject, definition of the problem and the aim of the study are presented. In the second chapter, conceptual explanations on aesthetics and architecture, the theories of 20th century aesthetics and architecture are given. The methods and techniques are put forward. The third chapter includes the analysis of aesthetic and architectural theories with the method of conceptual analysis, conceptualisation, moreover, the discussions and arguments on examining the 1980s' architectural buildings by the help of the conceptions. In the fourth chapter results and conclusions, and in the fifth chapter further arguments take part for future researchers.
