Summary:

      Education is multi-dimensional phenomenon that means it progresses under the effect of so many factors. Physical conditions of the education buildings are one of the most important factors, which have important role on the quality of education. On the other hand learning is a complex activity that is related with pupil s motivation and physical condition. Beside the teaching resources, teachers skill and curriculum, the physical condition and design of the actual school facility have an important effect on the child s learning performance. In this context, the purpose of this study is to investigate and put forth the impact of the quality of school and its environment s physical facilities on pupils achievement, attendance and teachers performance by determining the quality of school physical facilities, satisfaction of teacher and pupil about existing physical condition of their schools at secondary school level in Trabzon. The study has five main chapters. In the first chapter; statement of the problem, purpose of the study and assumptions, general information and examples, which create the necessary infrastructure about the subject, are explained. In the second chapter; method of the study, preparation and parts of questionnaire and building assessment forms used in the study, school examples and choosing reason of these schools used in analyzing process, sample size, spatial assessments about schools, analyzing of data, which were getting from field survey, by making use of SPSS 17.0 statical software are taken place. In the third chapter; findings of the statistical evaluations and tables of these findings are given. In the fourth chapter; discussions of the findings are given. In the fifth chapter; results and suggestions are taken place. Through literature and acquired knowledge, some design criteria is generated for educational buildings which will support students learning, motivations and achievement. Finally, this approach infers some conclusions throughout the entire research, and yields some implicative questioning.
