| Summary: In the first chapter, the aim of the study and methods were introduced. The city texture of Tokat was discussed under the titles of location, physical, social-economics features. In addition historical development of city was presented in detail in this chapter. In the third chapter, the data obtained from the civil and monumental architectural examples were analyzed by applying typological classification method and structural identity of Tokat city was tried to be determined. In the fourth chapter, the results of this study that were obtained by all these analyses and evaluations were presented; the physical development of the city, civil and monumental architectural examples were determined; suggestions based upon these results for conservation and perpetuation of the city identity were proposed.
