Summary:

      The urban public locations are the places where the various groups of city dwellers can be together. In this research the features of the shopping centers as urban public locations has been evaluated. It is a compelling reason to consider the urban and public locational features of these places due to the fact that these centers are a visiting place for almost all inhabitants. In the first section, subject is determined, aim of the study is described and the problem and the methodology of the study are introduced. In the second section, the development and change effective research of headlines in today s shopping center. Their contents are; Space and behaviour to concern in shopping centers are accounted. The concept of public and the relation between shopping centers and the qualities that influence public place and public are dealt with. In the third section, the introduction of the field of study, the progress of the search, methods and technics are explained. Moreover there is an analysis in the field of study. Typological analysis; thpology, the general structure of types, the analysis of physical space elements. The subjective perception and evaluation; the way in which an focus spaces are used and percieved by the user, to determine the most influential factors. The information about these subjects are gathered by observation, intensive interwiev and determining the present state of spaces by measuring. In the fourth section, the findings and arguments as a result of the studies are included. In the fifth section, conclusions and the suggestions are included.
