Summary:

      From past to present, magnificence has been considered to be an important issue which can be explained withthe concept of semantics, the concept of symbolization and the concept of permanence which reflect social, economic and culturel structures of societies that had been created by the most influential religious, economic, politic and ideological powers of the period at the most effective, the most striking and the most stunning figurations, scales-locations of architecture. Presentation of magnificence in this study, perception and evalution of this presentation, by examining both physical and social perception also the social and aesthetic context , the place of magnificence in architecture is defined and explained as well-rounded. In the first section, formation of magnificence, its reflections to pyschical environment, components which creates it, theories and approaches about magnificence, conceptions, reasons and goals that creates magnificence, factors which play role in its formation, scales that it reflects on and qualities take part its creation are discussed. In the second section, scales-locations which are physical sizes of magnificence and analysis of qualities which effect creation of magnificence are found. In the third section, how magnificence is perceived by people who have different backgrounds, which qualities come into prominence in the formation of magnificence, differences and similarities between these groups of qualities are examined and evaluated. In the fourth section, leading factors of the formation of magnificence, definitions-descriptions of magnificence by architects who build and evaluated magnificence and by other people, reasons-goals which effect formation of magnificence are represented and all of these data are evaluated. In the final section, in light of all these examinations and evaluations there are results and suggestions.
