Summary:

      This study is a proposal of an interactive three dimensional model for a university campus. Karadeniz Technical University campus is selected as a case study. The models comprise of campus and a detailed architecture department building models. These models are attached with video, photographs, sound, etc.

These models are created in AutoCAD. Sound, video, photo and animation techniques added model that are trasformed VRML. The url address is www.risc01.ktu.edu.tr/-berna.

      The study will help to facilities management for campus buildings, new building designs, information and promotion, and repairment of buildings in many ways. Once buildig are trasformed into the electronic environment as 3 dimensional objects, third persons can reach and manipulate these information very fast and easily comparing to traditional methods. Such further studies as virtual seminar, meeting, lecture room and virtual design studio would complete this study.

This thesis of six chapters. First chapter includes purpose, scope and method of the study, literature review, short definitions of terminology. The second chapter is the application of the method and there are classification of existting documents creation of simulation models interface, introduction of the models. The third chapter includes of evaluation of the simulation model and comparison of with traditional systems.

      The fourth chapter includes evaluation and the results of this study from education, design, practice, preservation, promotional point of view. At the fifth chapter, there, there are some proposals and comments for further researchers.
